"Marilyn Medusa" is a striking fusion of Hollywood glamour and ancient mythology. By combining the iconic visage of Marilyn Monroe with the serpentine hair of Medusa, Parsons crafts a narrative that juxtaposes beauty and danger, allure and power. This print challenges the viewer to reconsider the dichotomies of celebrity culture and the mythological archetypes of femininity and monstrosity. Through intricate details and bold colours, Trafford creates a piece that is both visually captivating and thought-provoking.

Marilyn was Sexy , she exudes so much sexuality - she is "Medusa" a striking fusion of Hollywood glamour and ancient mythology.

I love the story Tony Curtis tells of her getting her costume for some like it hot

Orry-Kelly the amazing Hollywood costume designer  measured Tony Curtis and Jack Lemmon, then it was Monroe’s turn. “He goes in to measure Marilyn, and she comes out in a pair of panties and a silk blouse. He goes around her, and he said, ‘You know Marilyn, Tony Curtis has a better-looking ass than you.’ She unbuttoned her blouse, opened it, and said, ‘He doesn’t have t*ts like these!’” Curtis chuckled. “You can’t beat that story. She was so pissed off. I loved her for that.”

These prints are all hand pulled silk screen prints so each one has its own individual eccentricities that are intrinsic to this process.

This image developed from a big painting 8 x 10 meters - that was over the entrance to Sunbridgewells Bradford and incorporated Andy Warhols famous pop art Marilyn with a giant octopus inspired by Spectre the villains in James bond stories, the idea of an artist lair. This image takes the next step of making Marilyn the Medusa of myth.
