Ernst Stavro Blofeld is James Bond’s long-running nemesis the bald, cold mastermind behind SPECTRE, first appearing in From Russia with Love (1963) and made iconic in You Only Live Twice (1967). The cat was never given a name in the films, but it became a symbol of his detached cruelty: while Bond faced chaos and danger, Blofeld sat stroking a calm, purring creature, a chilling contrast to his ruthless schemes.
By isolating the cat and screen-printing it in shocking pink, I’ve turned the villain’s mascot into a piece of pop-art satire: a comment on power, image-making, and how even terror gets branded.
